Founder: Monica Wat / Enterprise: Made on the Moon / Discipline: Multidisciplinary / Location: Bristol
More about their enterprise:
Founder Monica Wat felt a desire to create a space that brings together East & South East Asian (ESEA) creatives and art lovers. Being a creative from Hong Kong herself, she has experienced the challenges of the lack of representation, cultural appropriation and discrimination, and wanted to address the issues through meaningful action.
Made on the Moon has since grown to be a UK-based creative collective that bridges ESEA artists with the wider community through events production, community partnerships, commissions, consultancy and more:
Events production: including Moon Fest, their annual flagship festival consisting of film screenings, live performances, art & food stalls and workshops.
ESEA Moon Circle: a space for ESEA creatives to come together, exchange insights and access more creative opportunities.
Partnerships & Agency Service: connecting artists to commissioning organisations and co-producing events.
Consultancy: community producers and creatives of ESEA heritages provide consultancy on arts, culture and outreach projects.
