More about their enterprise:
Mike describes The Common Sense Network (tcsnetwork) as being founded by 500 people.
In 2017, 50k was raised in 50 days through a crowdfunding campaign to start Common Sense. Since then, they have served a growing community of over 20,0000 and provide an alternative to what they describe as a ‘broken media’ where
- there are very few places for people who disagree to speak to each
- algorithms on news sites and social are driving us into deeper bubbles
- major news sites are driven by profit and not by the community
- media literacy is at an all-time low with most people not able to spot fake news and tricks from the mainstream media
The Common Sense Network is a platform for their readers to discover stories from across the political spectrum, local stories, stories that hold power to account, that uncover wrongdoing, that empower the forgotten and the unheard. Committed to providing multiple perspectives on issues with well written, well researched articles, tcsnetwork is on a mission to build the broadest coalition of diverse commentators in the UK.
