More about their enterprise:
Greenacre Films is an independent production company founded by award-winning producers Nadine and Amanda.
Greenacre works with great talent in an inclusive space that encourages innovative, cinematic and entertaining ideas to be realised.
Nadine describes how she and her co-founder have always strived to tell stories from diverse voices (and by that they mean diversity in the broadest sense), “It doesn’t feel niche for us, it feels normal to do this. When we set up, most of the stories you saw on film or television tended to be written and made by very similar types of people and it was their worlds that we were watching; although we could engage with them, they weren’t necessarily worlds that we recognised or inhabited. We want to see worlds that we see when we walk down the street on screen.”
Their feature film BEEN SO LONG (BFI/Film 4) made cinema history when after showcasing at Cannes, a global deal was negotiated with Netflix which, at the time, was the largest single acquisition of a UK film by the streaming giant.
In 2024, Greenacre Films were selected by the BFI, to run a talent and IP accelerator that identifies screenwriting talent with global perspectives. The accelerator aims to fast-track the production of films for local and international markets, which will prioritise female and non-binary writers from the Global Majority.
