Founder: Sharlayne Flanders / Enterprise: Project Noir Hub / Discipline: TV, Film & Media; Literature / Location: London
More about their enterprise:
Project Noir was founded by Sharlayne to challenge the lack of diversity in TV and film and provide safe spaces for their members to meet up, share content, collaborate, as well as make introductions to employers. It is a network and pop-up members club, curating events for people of Black African, Caribbean and Asian heritage and built of professionals who work in TV & film.
At their monthly Parlour events members meet and discuss current and cultural events, whilst writers and word enthusiasts showcase their work. Their exclusive Parlour+ series, hosted at the MeWe building in Soho, has included special guest speakers such as Sir Lenny Henry, June Sarpong and Kwame Kwei-Armah.
Sharlayne firmly believes in the power of connecting and supporting each other in our creative endeavours in order to progress with positivity saying that, “in light of the lack of opportunities in our industry it is time to create our own…”
