Founder: Ndubuisi Uchea / Enterprise: Word on the Curb / Discipline: Creative agency / Location: London
More about their enterprise:
Having started with a YouTube channel, a shared Nikon DSLR Camera, and two Manchester Uni mates (Ndu and Hayel), a decade after being set up, Word on the Curb has built a vibrant community of over 400,000 and won 5 awards for their work reaching diverse audiences at The Pro’s Award (sponsored by Google).
As a youth insight and content agency, Word on the Curb stands to connect with underrepresented Millennial and Gen-Z audiences. They are dedicated to using the power of culture and stories to give people a voice, with an edutainment framework and community at the heart of everything they do.
It’s research department and insights agency have an unmatched understanding of young consumers to consult major organisations on their creative campaigns. Strategies have been devised for the likes of the NHS, Open University and the BBC to provide them with the confidence and credibility to engage with their audiences through cultural insights and creative strategies. For example, WotC’s NHS campaign slashed the NHS’ year-on-year opt-out rate of Black and Asian organ donors by 90% and their viral public research flash mob forced the Home Office to revise its approach to youth violence reduction.
