More about their enterprise:
Naked Politics is an organisation dedicated to engaging young people (16-25) in political and social issues. In particular, it seeks to amplify young people we hear from least in society, such as those who are working class, Black, People of Colour, women, LGBTQ+ and the disabled.
Banseka started Naked Politics as a website after leaving university in 2015. She wanted to create unique online articles for young audiences to inform, educate and create discussion about political/social issues- and more importantly in a way that isn’t patronising to young people. She proactively reached out to young contributors, giving them a platform to voice their views and in turn help to empower them.
Since then, as well as continuing to provide online content, Naked Politics has expanded to providing an outreach programme. The programme aims to engage with young people in the spaces they occupy. With universities, schools and other appropriate spaces, Naked Politics uses its channels to deliver tailored educational and engagement campaigns to expand young people’s knowledge and participation in a variety of potential areas, from the basics of democracy, to running a campaigns on political/ social issues.
In 2025, Banseka made it to the Big Issue’s 100 Changemakers list.
